Advanced Information Research Skills (AIRS) is a mandatory coursework requirement for Higher Degree Research (HDR) students enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Doctor of Education (EdD) or Master of Philosophy (MPhil). More than 400 QUT higher degree research (HDR) students are enrolled in the unit each year. The unit is offered in blended learning mode, delivering online content and live workshops..These offerings enable students to choose how and when they interact with the learning resources.
The unit was established as an accredited unit in 1989 with the aim of developing the research literacies of HDR students. Over the intervening 30 plus years, the unit has undergone substantial development to keep pace with the changing research terrain and the research needs of contemporary researchers.
